In the early days of snowboarding back in 1984, when the new sport only slowly gained foothold in Europe, the VIRUS team had already started to professionally manufacture snowboards in Germany and they have held their own ever since. But why “VIRUS”? This question becomes obsolete after the first descent with a VIRUS board and since quite some time now also VIRUS skis. Once you have been infected, you know: these boards are addictive!!

We have been developing and manufacturing high-end snowboards and skis in Germany for more than 20 years now. From the beginning, it has been our philosophy to create a functionally and formally perfect product for our customers from the best materials available, thus guaranteeing long lasting quality in use.

Alpine snowboarding had been on a retreat for many years due to its costly requirements in material and equipment. However, we are pleased to have stayed in the game with our good name through steady quality and performance and we have been watching the new growth of alpine snowboarding for a while. People are rediscovering the power and aesthestics of this sport, which we have supported with great affection that can be felt in our boards.

All our products are handmade in our German manufacture. The materials we use are purchased from suppliers in the vicinity and Western Europe, respectively. We highly set value on short delivery distances, highest standards of quality and environmentally friendly production of our materials. We deliberately emphasize the use of the very best materials abandoning expensive PR campaigns.
